CERTIFIED LOGISTICS PROFESSIONAL (CLP)
This Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) is designed for logisticians working in tactical and supervisory careers, as well as for those aspiring to future managerial positions. This program aims at creating a foundation for a career in logistics and supply chain management through this newly developed CLP Pathway. At the end of the program the participant will walk away with the skills/training as well as the accreditation to back it up. This designation fills a need to prepare practitioners for a successful career in logistics. The problem solving skills learned in this program will align you with the skills to achieve your objectives effectively. Logistics is a profession that is expected to double over the next decade. The demand for professionals, technical experts and executives will as a consequence continue to rise.
Course Objective
- Understanding the functions comprising logistics, how these functions interact, and how logistics can be managed as a system to reduce total cost
- Recognizing how logistics affects customer service, corporate performance and competitive advantage
- Identifying the key logistics processes that span multiple enterprises and how managing logistics as a supply chain process creates values for the end-user and all key stakeholders
- Developing effective strategies for logistics managers to improve corporate performance while simultaneously increasing customer service and improving corporate performance.
This certification recognizes the functional interrelationships within the professional responsibilities of logisticians regardless of their occupational roles.The title “Certified Logistics Professional ” (CLP) is awarded to individuals of proven competence in logistics who complete the certification process designed to test their broad knowledge of the entire logistics spectrum.
Candidates who successfully complete the certification program are awarded a specially designed certificate attesting to the successful completion of the certification process.Successful candidates of the certification program are granted the designation of “Certified Logistics Professional (CLP),” by ILSCMI – International Logistics and Supply Chain Management Institute . The professional designation should be used in a dignified manner similar to the recognition accorded the accounting, medical insurance, and other professionals. Either the full expression or the initials may be used after the individual’s name on business cards and stationery, but always in a manner consistent with the dignity of the Society

The Transportation & Distribution Class by ILSCMI was a wonderful experience because the Savannah port tour brought the entire process to life. In the evenings sitting at the restaurant on River Street overlooking the River, watching the large container ships heading out to sea was just amazing!
I really enjoyed coming to class and listening to and sharing examples from “the real world” to make the material relatable. Engagement from the instructor and other classmates facilitated great discussion and brought the concepts from the text to life. I was able to apply several concepts at work and share them with co-workers to improve our own Supply Chain processes.
